Description In Economics: The User's Guide, bestselling author Ha-Joon Chang explains how the global economy works, and why anyone can understand the dismal science. Unlike many economists who claim there is only one way of 'doing economics', he introduces readers to a wide range of economic theories, from classical to Keynesian, revealing how they all have their strengths, weaknesses and blind spots. By ignoring the received wisdom, and exposing the myriad forces that shape our financial fate, Chang provides the tools that every responsible citizen needs to understand - and address - our current economic woes.
Economics - The User's Guide - Staff Choice by Sigrid A must-read for those not familiar with modern-day economics, and also a must-read for aficionados. Finally I can read the paper and make up my own mind of how the economy works. Works better for me; before I used to find it confusing to read a writerís opinion neatly disguised as facts. It didnít make sense to me, but I couldnít put my finger on it. Now I can, and I highly recommend this book to every human being above 16.
Economics: A User's Guide - Customer Choice by Martijn Form Brilliant move to resurrect the Pelican books imprint. So far I have bought/read Human Evolution by Robin Dunbar, Greek and Roman Political Ideas by Melissa Lane and this great humorous book about Economics. Very easy to read and insightful about the how and why of human behavior with money.
