Friday, February 26th: Okay, so this is a February event, and in Dutch to boot, but it is a booklaunch, and at the ABC Treehouse in Amsterdam, so of course I’m going to include it here: Jan Storms will present his book Destructieve relaties op de schop from 16.30 – 18.30 hrs. He will chat about the book and sign it too. See more information at the Treehouse website.
March 10 – 20th: Nationale Boekenweek (National Book Week). For the 75th time, the country will celebrate all that is literary. This year’s theme is Titaantjes – Opgroeien in de letteren, which roughly translates as Little Titans – Growing Up In Literature. See the website for the countless events planned everywhere (including when you can travel for free with your Boekenweekgeschenk)(i.e. Book Week Gift)(which, incidentally, we won’t be able to give away to you in our stores, as they are designated for buyers of Dutch books)(we applied for them, but were given this answer, alas).
Wednesday, March 10th: Author Ron Rash visits Amsterdam at the invitation of the John Adams Institute. He’ll be at Salon – de Balie starting at 20.00 hrs to present his book Serena. See more information at the JAI website.
Friday, March 19th: He was in Den Haag last time, but this time John Irving (surely needs no further introduction, does he?) will be at the University of Amsterdam, starting at 20.00 hrs. If you can, go, he reads his stories beautifully! For more information see the JAI website.
Thursday, March 25th: I don’t have any confirmed details yet, but hopefully there will be a booklaunch of the book Calligraffity by Niels ‘Shoe’ Meulman and Adam Eeuwens, probably at the ABC in Amsterdam (or else the ABC Treehouse in Amsterdam). Don’t take this info as set in stone until there’s a separate post of it though! I just wanted to give you a heads up. 🙂
Edited to add: Wednesday, March 31st: Business-guru Seth Godin will be at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. He will be the keynote speaker at the B2B Marketing Forum 2020. He is the author of such business staples as Purple Cow, Tribes, and his most recent book is Linchpin.
Friday, April 16th: The Help author Kathryn Stockett will visit the University of Amsterdam as well, starting at 20.00 hrs. The Help is her debut novel, and what a moving story it is! For more information see the JAI website.
Wednesday, April 21st: E. Benjamin Skinner, author of A Crime So Monstrous: Face-to-Face with Modern Day Slavery, will be at de Duif in Amsterdam starting at 20.00 hrs. For more information see the JAI website.
