ABC’s Spiritual Book Club: November & December Amsterdam Book Pick

ABC’s Spiritual Book Club in Amsterdam meets once a month on Sunday, from 3pm to 5pm at the ABC Treehouse.

(Not to be confused with the newly starting ABC Spiritual Book Club in The Hague!)

The next meetings take place on:

  • November 13th
  • December 11th

To reserve your seat at the next meeting, or to sign up for our mailing list, send Femke Wijdekop an email at

Our current book-pick is Gregg Braden’s Deep Truth: Igniting the Memory of Our Origin, History, Destiny and Fate.

Fact: For the first time in human history, the future of our species rests upon the choices of a single generation. Fact: We are at the “zero hour” of our opportunity to solve the clear and present threats to our world and our lives. Fact: Our solutions to the immediate crises – including climate change, the global economic meltdown, growing shortages of food and fresh water, rising levels of poverty and disease, and the looming threat of global war – are based upon the way we think about ourselves in the world. Question: How can we make the most important choices of our lives until we know the deepest truth of our existence? Discover for yourself the compelling evidence that is rewriting the scientific story of our origin, history, destiny and fate…

About ABC’s Spiritual Book Club

Once a month on Sunday, ABC’s Spiritual Book Club meets in Amsterdam to discuss a title from the American Book Center’s Consciousness section.

Although our discussions are centered around a selected book, the Spiritual Book Club is more than just a book club. Ultimately, it functions as a platform where participants can share ideas, exchange experiences and find inspiration.

Occasionally authors join our discussions too, and lecture from their work. Authors Gary Renard, Névine Salvadé and Tom Nehrer have visited us and given us a splendid time.

The Spiritual Book Club’s focus is not on theoretical debates, but on practical Spirituality. “How do I apply these spiritual insights in my own life?” and “How can I stay centered in the chaos of every day living?” are questions we address during our discussions. Coming together with other “spiritual seekers” from all over the world in an ambiance of mutual respect and relaxed openness is what the Spiritual Book Club is all about.

As participant Annie says:

“The ABC Spiritual Book Club has felt like a haven to me, where I have been able to discuss subjects close to my heart with intelligent and open-minded individuals. They have become more than fellow-travelers on the spiritual path. They have become friends.”

Titles we have read and discussed so far include:
