The circus arrives without warning. The black sign, painted in white letters that hangs upon the gates, reads: Opens at Nightfall, Closes at Dawn. As the sun disappears beyond the horizon, all over the tents small lights begin to flicker, as though the entirety of the circus is covered in particularly bright fireflies.

Magical, wonderful book. Very, *very* full of details, but in the context of the book it works beautifully. They really help (rather than hinder) your visit to the circus, and you actually feel like you are walking around it.
This is also one of those few books where the sense of smell is brought out well; the echo of caramel and spun sugar is in your nose each time your mind enters the courtyard of the circus.
I wish I could visit Le Cirque des Reves in real life!

This magical book is so dreamy and so well written, that I was actually sad when I finished it. Every page was just beautiful.

I have never before read an environment-driven story but it's so beautifully done. If you think in pictures, like me, this book will blow you away with inspiration.

This book is about magic. Not the usual Avada Kedavra kind, but the kind you encounter when you discover something you just can't help but love with all your heart.
Then it gets even better when you meet other people who feel the exact same way and you can share that special something with.
It's about geeking out and not being ashamed about it. It's about sharing an experience and making friends.
That connection is what this book is about. And a magical circus where two wizards duel each other every night.
