Adobe sold their interests in the Abobe ACS eBook DRM system to a company called Wipro in 2025.
ByteBooks, operated by Wipro, has now taken full responsibility for running the Adobe eBook platform, including managing user accounts and handling eBook licenses.
Wipro are suggesting that they will be carrying out improvements and updates to the ACS system, as part of this transition the current requirement for a consumer to have an Adobe ID to access content is changing to requiring a “ByteBooks” ID.
