Rosamund lies dying in her remote Shropshire home. But before she does so, she has one last task: to put on tape not just her own story but the story of the young blind girl, her cousin's granddaughter, who turned up mysteriously at her party all those years ago.

Wow. What a story, and what an ingenious way of telling the story!
An ailing old lady wants to leave behind some of her memories to a far away relative, but is unable to find her. She decides to use a tape recorder, and with a handful of postcards and photographs, she starts taping her thoughts and memories connected to those images.
A wonderful and very touching novel that I can highly recommend.
