Photographer Cris Toala Olivares photographed Amsterdam for ten years. He has depicted the city from the Bijlmer to Osdorp, from the Zuid-As to Floradorp and from the Anne Frank House to the Johan Cruyff Arena.

For his work for Reuters, Associated Press and National Geographic, he received the Silver Camera and the Magnum Photography Award. Previously published Living with Volcanoes, for which he traveled to active volcanoes all over the world. Amsterdam is a tribute to the city that is his home base. The book has accompanying texts in Dutch and English.
