Maus is a Holocaust (auto)biography about a father who survived Auschwitz and his difficult relationship with his son, who was born after the war. In this graphic novel, humans wear animal masks: the Jews are depicted as mice and the Nazis and traitors as cats or pigs, based, presumably, on the characteristics of each group.
