Amsterdam's Festival of Fools of 1975 was the emotional climax of the Great Salt Lake Mime Troupe's multi-year journey, which began in the Western USA, but found audiences that appreciated their comedy, music, and dance over the wide Atlantic Ocean in the Netherlands. This theatrical tale is told by artist and technician Michael Evans.
The Festival of Fools continued through the Seventies into the Eighties, and the yearly programs quoted in this book vividly tell about performers and projects occurring in and around Amsterdam and even further afield! The reader will repeatedly see the names of certain long-time Fools, who vigorously pursued their art across the blue horizons of Planet Earth.
The Illustrated Amsterdam Edition consists of contemporary photographs, drawings, and a memorabilia preserved over the years. The Great Salt Lake Mime Saga and Amsterdams Festival of Fools is a glimpse into another time -- commemorating the 40th anniversary of an event that endured over two decades, and celebrating the creative spirit which sent so many talented people around the world to make it funnier and more beautiful.
