A nightmarish danger threatens from the other side of reality...Armed with only a frying pan and her common sense, young witch-to-be Tiffany Aching must defend her home against the monsters of Fairyland. Luckily she has some very unusual help: the local Nac Mac Feegle - aka the Wee Free Men - a clan of fierce, sheep-stealing, sword-wielding, six-inch-high blue men. Together they must face headless horsemen, ferocious grimhounds, terrifying dreams come true, and ultimately the sinister Queen of the Elves herself... This is The First Book In The Tiffany Aching Sequence.

Did you know that a cast iron frying pan could help you to fight a river spirit?
This book is the first of the Tiffany's Aching series within the Discworld stories written by Terry Pratchett. Tiffany's story begins with her first encounter with the Nac Mac Feegles and the realization that she is a witch. A very nice and fun book to read, often laden with criticism and sarcasm, in which Terry Pratchett used to write his stories.

Tiffany's story begins with her first encounter with the Nac Mac Feegle and the realization that she is a witch, and develops into a series were she grows not only in age but also in skills. I get goosebumps every time I read how she connects to her Chalk and draws her magic from it. Really amazing. And, of course, I also love the funny way, often laden with criticism and sarcasm, in which Terry Pratchett writes his stories.
