Sandford has created an excellent crime series with The Lucas Davenport books.
Although most of the characters reappear in each novel, the stories can be read individually, without any problems.
Each book has plenty of tension, action and drama, and Davenport, a very likeable investigator, takes you on a roller-coaster ride in each book.
